PLACES TO VISIT IN CUTTACK
Being one of the oldest and second largest Silver cities of the state Odisha. Cuttack is known for been backed with the top notch facilities for tourists. Referred to as the commercial centre known for its trade activities, the city is renowned for its internationally acclaimed silver filigree artwork, thin silver wires that were transformed exquisitely and beautifully into utensils, jewellery and many other decorative items.

Dhabaleswar: Situated at an exotic and serene island of Lord Dhabaleswar, the temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva and is at an about 27 km distance from the Cuttack city. The temple is elaborated fully with stone carvings, dating back to 10th and 11th century, and the stillness and lovely atmosphere around inspires everyone to get and feel that spiritual feeling and all. The functions that were held here at a large scale and people came by from all around to attend these include Maha Shivaratri, Dola Purnima, Pausha Purnima, Kartika Purnima, etc.
Banki Charchika: One of the oldest Shakta places and counted among eight memorials of Odisha, the temple is located at the South of Mahanadi River. The best time to visit there is in between October to March. The presiding deity here is the eight armed goddess Chamunda, also famously been referred to as Maa Charchika Devi. She is wearing a chaplet of human minds, seating on a prostate human body, displaying shula, khadga, katari and varadamudra in her four right hands and her four left hands represent blood cup, severed head, and damru and with a left out finger, the whole hand is soaked in blood.
Bhattarika: Being another ancient Hindu Goddess temple faithful to the goddess of power and shakti, Maa Bhattarika, it is notable and worthy places to be in Cuttack, Odisha. Located on the banks of Mahanadi River, tourists come by in large numbers every year here. There are tales that the temple is located at a pretty covered and holy spot where Goddess Durga gave her powers to Parasuram while he was praying to her and faced defeat from Saharasjuna.
Niali Madhab: Being acknowledged as a famous and worth visiting religious centre, the spot is known for the shrine of Radha Madhab. Located on the banks of sacred river Prachi, the place is about at a distance of 42 km from Cuttack. Deojhar: The waterfall here is among one of the catchy and worthy sites of Odisha and is about at a distance of 130 kms from Cuttack city. Popular for its natural beauty and ambience, the place is also counted among one of the best picnic spots of the state to spend gala time with loved ones. At the top of waterfall, there is a cave famously known as Badedidhar where saints were supposed to live. Popular for its natural beauty and charm, the best time to visit here is in between October to March.
Maa Dhakulei Pitha: A famous attractive and religious place to visit to, the temple is located adjacent to Kuakhai River and Puri Main Canal where it is known that water flows perennially all throughout the year. There is also a much known Jain museum alongside the temple, constructed way back by the Jain devotees. The Maa Dhakulei temple is renowned for fireworks that usually were held during the Dola Purnima and is worth visiting.
Naraj: Being an amazing spot situated on the outskirts of the city Cuttack, the place was once referred to a popular space of Buddhist learning and culture. The archaeologist excavations that were held during past revealed the presence of many small and big sized Buddhist images and also, it is a famous picnicking destination as well. About 14 km away from Cuttack, the spot is easily approachable and accessible.
Ansupa: The famous Ansupa Lake is among one of the largest fresh water and sweet lakes of Odisha and is located in Banki in Cuttack spread in a large area of 141 hectare land, surrounded by Saranda hills and a lot more scenery and beauty. The horseshoe shaped lake is small but reallytremendously beautiful and eye catching and even holds a prominent position in the tourist map of Odisha.
Nemalo: It is the famous place of the state, reckoned as the Samadhi of Achyutananda, known among one of the five panchasakas who basically set forth the bhakti cult in Odisha. The person Achyutananda is also popular for his great and prescient depictions written by him, also popular as Malika. It is located on the banks of River Chitrotapala.

Sri Sri Ramanath Dev – Baidyanath Dev: Sri Sri Ramanath Jew and Baidyanath, the ancient temple is situated in the Bank of River Mahanadi built by king Dahlia in 1460 A.D. But the legend says that Maryada Purush Rama Chandra & Devi Sita were worshiped Lord Shiva in this place during the exile. So both temples were named after Pravu Sri Rama & Devi Sita. The Ramanath Temple is situated at the top of Hill & Baidyanath Temple is situated at the bottom of Hatia Hill.
Sri Sri Swapneswar Dev: This famous temple at Sankhamerilies on the northern side of River Mahanadi built by Balabhadra Mangaraj the King of Badamba Gadajat in between 1690 AD to 1734 AD. This village Sankhamari was also the first village of Badamba Gadajat and was established by Sri Hatta Kishore, the first King of Badamba Gadajat on 1305 AD. The attraction of the temple is that the snakebite patients are cured through worshiping and Dharana near Lord Shiva.
Damdamani Pitha: This religious destination is named after the Goddess Dam Damani, situated amidst a green forest of Dalijoda and a perennial stream flowing nearby. This is an ideal place for picnickers and devotees. Legend states, that the Pandavas during the exile had remained incognito near the kingdom of Birat. The forest was a hunting ground of a king, but today is a part of the National Forest Reserve.
Maninag Cave – Jaluka Hills: This cave is situated on the west side of River Birupa and east of the famous Manduka Hill named after the Saint Manduka. There are six hills surrounding the site. The hill is spread over 3 kms in length and half a kilometer in with embracing the famous Mani Nag Cave and other sacred places. These individual strategic locations on the hill hold religious and mythological significance.
Barabati Stadium : Modern Cuttack boasts of Barabati Stadium, an important venue for international cricket matches. It is the home ground of the Odisha cricket team and is operated by Odisha Cricket Association. The Barabati Stadium is one of the older grounds in India, having hosted several cricket matches.
